Raney Street Day Care and Preschool, Inc. opened its doors in January 1999 and is owned by a corporation of shareholders from the Barr Family. The 6250 Sq. Ft. building is appropriately located in the Industrial Park at 1800 South Raney Street, Suite 1, Effingham, Illinois. The hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6:15AM to 5:30PM. Raney Street Day Care and Preschool, Inc. is licensed with the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services with a capacity to care for 118 children ages 0 weeks to 12 years. The building is equipped with 5 classrooms, each having its own bathroom and sink area, a kitchen, utility room, 2 separate offices, and 2 playgrounds. The Infant Room, Toddler Room and Jr. Preschooler Classrooms' playground is designed specifically for the 0 to 2 age group. It contains a concrete sidewalk, 10 x 12 rubber matting surface, canopy area for sunny days, and a grassy area. The Pre-K and School Age Playground was designed with a concrete area for riding toys, basketball games, etc., a grassy area for dramatic play, and a safety surface of shredded tire for large motor play. The center also owns a large grass lot for free play activity, such as, kick ball, baseball, etc.
The center employs 2 Certified Directors, on site, to oversee the day-to-day operations, a qualified teaching staff with teacher's aides to provide for the needs of children and a Dietary Assistant to prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
Raney Street Day Care and Preschool, Inc. will provide parents and/or guardians with an enrollment package including the policies and procedures that the center has established. Raney Street Day Care and Preschool, Inc. has an "Open-Door" Policy allowing any inquiring families to tour the center, by appointment, and to ask any questions they may have.
